burning in system with Frykleaner
« on: 3 Jan 2007, 02:52 am »
I'm wondering if anyone could offer their opinion on burning in a whole system with the Frykleaner.  I've seen posts on Audio Asylum in which people claim to have run the Frykleaner as a source into their line amp, through the power amp, and out into the speakers, which would seem to be a great thing, since you could burn in everything at once and also burn in the speaker crossovers and internal wiring at the same time.  HOWEVER, in the Frykleaner manual, it states that this is the type of signal that can blow tweeters.  Is it safe to run the Frykleaner through the whole system at a low volume level, or is this a bad idea?  Does anyone know which setting  I should use to run the Frykleaner into the "CD-in" on my solid state line amp (Michael Yee LA-1)?
Thanks for any help,
Chris

Hello,

If you are plugging the frykleaner into your line preamplifier, you can use your volume control on your preamplifier. Turn the volume all the way down and then slowly bring it up. Start with the lowest setting on the frykleaner. If its not loud enough, try the next higher setting on the frykleaner. That way you can ensure you aren't going to be blowing any tweets....I still seriously doubt you would though, cause your ears should be bleeding by then.

Best,
Anand.
