I'm a new member here and recently purchased a used SP 1.7 (upgraded from a SP 1). Incredible sonics c/w my previous NAD home theatre receiver serving as a multi-channel pre-amp.
I'm slowly reading the material on this most useful forum and came across...
To Enable or disable the backlight in the remote:
You can try this settings. This is straight from the manual. Default was disabled.
Press CODE button for 5 seconds
LED will flash red, then release button
Type in 3 digit code 792=MODE /SAVE /DTS
LED will flash again to confirm

My Sp 1.7 manual does not have a list of codes. The one posted on the Bryston website is Revision 600-39 (August 12, 2002) which I suspect is not the most recent one.
James can you update the website documentation or someone make a newer list of codes available.
