Altman DAC
Promitheus and other TVCs
D/A conv. with USB port
Spruce platforms, shelves, etc.coated with violin varnish-seems to control resonance by using it rather than trying to eliminate it ,makes sense

I'm restricting my suggestions to that those I've actually heard myself, rather than internet/print buzz, stuff I 'know' that will be great because I think the vendor is kewl, etc....

PS Audio Duet power conditioner
AKSA Lifeforce Amps

Sadly, great audio kit are often NOT components that "will likely draw alot of attention:"

Would folks please indicate whether they've heard the component they're suggesting?

Paul, I agree completely on the AKSA LifeForce power amps. Their sound quality makes it a no brainer to make the list, but Hugh is a small outfit and doesn't do any marketing, relying only on word of mouth. Being located in Australia, rather than the much larger US market, is also a hurdle for him.

The VMPS rm60, without doubt and perhaps the Paul Hilgeman monitor, the Sentinal, when finished. I am also looking with interest for the Onix x-pro.

I think the Channel Islands D400s will be an important product. To me, it seems like it's a "next-generation" UcD product and it'll be interesting to see how well it is accepted.

Is one of these Class D amps going to be the breakthrough product that truly tips the balance towards this technology?

How far away are we from that point, if ever?

I feel like the only things you guys talk about is stuff on this board that has it's own forums. Do you guys ever listen to other stuff like McIntosh, Music Fidelity, YBA, Focal, Tannoy, Cary, Bel Canto,  B&W, etc? I suppose a fair amount of that stuff has fishy prices, but then again some of it kicks ass too.

I guess one reason we mostly discuss the little guys is because 1) they get no ink in the mainstream press and 2) the stuff you mention is done to death in the rags.  Why duplicate TAS and Stereophile?  The mass market stuff you mention is covered ad infinitum by the mainstream press, what more can be added here?  If you want to read about Bose, B&W, Cary, etc etc there's no shortages of outlets that cater to that.
