What products do you predict will be oustanding products for 2007? I can think of a several that will likely draw alot of attention:

1. VMPS Audio RMV60 Loudspeaker
2. Devore Fidelity Gibbon Nines Loudspeaker
3. Audes Excellence 5 Loudspeaker
3. AAD 7001 Monitor Speakers

1. SAS Audio Labs 11A Preamplifier
2. Belles Audio 2? Preamplifier (28A without as many features)

1. Music Direct TRL Modified Marantz 8001 SACD Player
2. APL HiFi DAC/Modified Oppo 971 Transport

What about you, what other products can you think of?

Alex will mod the 970, not the 971(and add a proprietary digital link to his new DAC)...soo my list includes:
* APL HiFi modded Oppo 970
* APL HiFi DAC
* anything Dan Wright produces (Modwright)...sorry, can't spill the beans

* CIAudio D-400's
* Aberdeen-modded Transporter
* RAM-modded Transporter
* RSA Sason subwoofer (after Steve builds me my center and surrounds...

Not getting off the subject of best products of 2007 but...

Speaking of the Oppo 981. Has anyone had a chance to see the picture quality of this 1080p up converting player? At under 250.00, Is this the best bang for the buck player compared to other 1000.00 plus players?

I'm restricting my suggestions to that those I've actually heard myself, rather than internet/print buzz, stuff I 'know' that will be great because I think the vendor is kewl, etc....

Sadly, great audio kit are often NOT components that "will likely draw alot of attention:"

I have heard the SAS Audio Labs 11A, several of the SilverFi Black Series cables, TRL Marantz 8001 SACD player. Some of the products I mentioned won't be introduced until the 2007 CES. I am not sure how likely it will be for some to hear products that aren't officially released yet.

I've owned a pair of PS Audio Duets since their initial release. Very, very impressive even without considering their modest MSRP.

Jim,

I was quite surprised by the efficacy of the Duet and its ability to power reasonably large systems. But upon further reflection, I don't think the Duet will garner much attention it '07. When all is said and done, power conditioners aren't 'sexy'.
In many systems, this bang for the buck conditioner could offer tremendous improvements for a comparatively modest expenditure. It compares very well to other very good units, but I don't know how it compares to the most bespoke of conditioners.

I'd certainly like to read your review in a Critics Circle thread.....
