Connecting external AMP to B100sst
« on: 31 Dec 2006, 01:29 am »
Can I connect an external power amp to my B100-sst integrated amp?  If so, would I connect to the Power AMP In and set the Separate/connected switch to separate.  Thanks.

Hi,

Use the PRE OUT and set the switch to Separate.

Unfortunately the pre-out is being used to connect a subwoofer.  Can I use a y-cable to connect to both subwoofer and power amp simultaneously.  Thanks.

Yes a Y cable should be OK - only issue may be a ground loop depending on the other amplifier- what amp are you using?

Plan to purchase a stereo amp off audiogon (not sure which one yet).  Need more power as I'm clipping the b100sst.  Any type of amp I need to avoid to prevent the ground loop?

Well a Bryston would not be an issue of course but other amps will just have to be a trial and error approach.

Thanks...haven't ruled out a Bryston, depends on what's available.  Looking for at least an AMP of comparable quality.
