Well, I've not had a whole lot of time yet to play with my new Cryo'd Napalm Ultra. Nor will I this week as I've gotten busier than I could possibly imagine.
But I did try this when I got home from work today.
I compared the Cryo'd Napalm Ultra on my
Pioneer DV-AX10 DVD/DVD-A/SACD player running The Fifth Element Superbit DVD, and my old Bolder Digital that's Cryo'd w/Silver Bullets on my
Pioneer Japan HLD-X9 Hi-Vision LD/NTSC LD player running The Fifth Element (Pioneer US pressing) LD.
Now those of you who've experienced Dolby Digital on LD directly compared with an identical DD DVD will know that the LD will sound better than the DVD. Why? I don't really know. But that's the way it's been every time I've run that test.
Well, this time it didn't go that way. This time, the DD on the DVD sounded better than it did on the LD. I could tell before that the CNU digital sounded better than the Cryo'd Silver Bullet design w/out Bybees or ERS. But this just proves it all the further to me. I guess at some point soon I should try the experiment reversed and run the CNU on the LD player.
So far I've only experienced positives with the Cryo'd Napalm Ultra. More testing to come...
