Need opinion on XLR ic and RCA ic !

Hi,
  Would an xlr ic be much better ,in term of sound quality, than rca ic, assuming they're both the same brand, same length( 3 feet)? What would you choose? I see in most case XLR ic is much higher cost than rca ic.
