This was the 2ND year I put this show on. It was held at a favorite local restaurant near my home. My family and I have become friends with "Willie and Lobo", super guys. This was recorded on the 27th of July, 2006. Check it out. You might like it. Their studio Cd's are also great to have on hand, they are very well recorded and produced.

I agree, that is an excellent album, but I do like them all! I play their music every Sunday morning while I am preparing the family breakfast and the kids are waking. They will remember that when they get older. The album I liked the least was "Mañana”, but as I heard a lot of the tunes played live by just the 2 of them without the backup musicians, I have now come to like a lot of the songs.
We sold out 2 shows this past July. This summer's show has not been planned yet but if I put it together, it will have to be 3 nights. I don't own the restaurant, I just do it for the fun, I am the promoter, no-profit to me, but it is a blast. Kind of like I am throwing my own dinner party, with live music I really like and Willie and Lobo draw a wonderful group of people to party with for a couple of nights.

If you “Willie and Lobo” fans here on AC have not heard this news yet, I am sorry to have to break it to you, but they are doing one more summer/fall tour and then they are calling it quits as a duo. A real bummer! They have been together for 17 years and have released 10 cds. The good news is that I am bringing them back for one more fling here in Minneapolis this July for 3 shows!

   It is their newest and you are correct, it did actually come out in 2006. Being that they are going their separate ways later this year, they have not updated the website yet. That disc "Zambra" took me a while to really start enjoying it. What has I think got me to like it now as much as I do is the production. It is fantastic, very clean, crisp, full and with super imaging. Which has also drawn me into what beautiful songs and parts they wrote and play through out the disc. A very good disc. Mike D. from ACI told me that he was playing it at the RMAF show while demoing for their set up. That says something of the quality of the disc!
