I need to buy an S video cable.   its for an XBOX.

Does the quality of an S Video cable matter for picture quality?

ACE hardware has one for $9, Bluejeans cable has one for $35 and Monster Cable sells one for $60.

i'm leaning towards the cheap & easy solution, thought i'd ask though...

I can see a difference, but like any cable question you will get some people saying there is a difference and some saying there isn't.

Why not buy a cheap and a more expensive one and try them both and determine what you can see?

You can buy the monster cable at any Circuit City, Best Buy, etc... and return it if you don't feel it is worth the money.

Guess it would also depend on what size tv your playing on?  If a 20", save the $.  A 60" dlp/lcd, it may be worth the extra $.

I bought a cough cough monster cable svideo cable for my xbox and it was a staggering difference.
When I bought monster hd hook up it was the same as the svideo input cable. YRMV.
No real comparison between svideo cables, albiet.
