Shuguang Audio Pricing
« on: 13 Dec 2006, 11:29 am »
Hello AudioCircle,

Quick note!!  For pictures and specifications: www.shuguangaudio.com and go to the English site,
(for some, that cannot get into the English site, of which I am one!! On the Chinese website, in  the
third column, from the left side of the page where Shuguang is in English. Go click and you at least get
to see some photos and specifications of the products. Hope this helps?  As it beats taking the laptop to
a Chinese restaurant to get help to read the Chinese characters and to find out about Shugaung Audio!
smile!)

SG-845B Tube Amplifier              Class A monos              18 watts per channel              $2,195

SG-502B Tube Amplifier              Power Amplifier             50 watts per channel              $849

SG-302B Tube Amplifier              Power Amplifier             35 watts per channel              $795

SG-101B Tube Amplifier              Power Amplifier             18 watts per channel              $349

  CD-208CD-HDCD Player              Compact Disc                High-Definition                      $595

SG-200B Tube Pre amplifier         Pre Amplifier                  Remote Included                   $349

Now here is how it is on this end!!  I have been getting quotes for shipping that are outrageous from DHL, FedEx and EMS. (ems is a international postal service, Chinese snail mail) I am in progress of getting decent rates??  What those rates will be will be determined later?? Smile!!

As always, all the best. From China!!

Shipping costs are in the sixty RMB per kilo range from China to the States!!  Twenty kilos forty four pounds times sixty is twelve hundred divided by today's rate is $153.29 with bank fees closer to $160. Just in time for Christmas!!

Hello,

No!  Simple put!!  Shuguang is a major manufacturer in mainland China. The big secret is that "Shuguang Audio" has been building other manufacturers equipment for years. Ophs!! I let the cat out of the bag!!! So! If you liked the "hot" Chinese manufacturer of the moment. You will probable love Shuguang!!

Re badged Jolidas!! You have to be kidding??  May the "Gods" curse your lovemaking!!!  The absolutely best deals in Chinese Hi-Fi just got 50% no 100% more expensive just for you??

(Re badged Jo!!! Now you have me talking to myself?? It is bad enough to be starving in China and trying to make a living but!!!  Re badged whatever!!!  That is it!!  I am ready to quit!!!)

Normally this is the part where I say, "As always, all the best. From China!!"

Instead I think I will just go lay down as I have a migraine headache NOW!!!

   Smile!!

As always, all the best. From China.

Sincerely,

Hello Ralph,
Good luck with your products..... :thumb:

Question....does this equipment come with a warranty ?

Would one have to send it back to China for any repair ?

Thanks..............................  Chris

I also tried to browse the website...but...we have a language problem, now if the English link was working...who knows....you may not be starving anymore, you would be living like the King of Siam.
Maybe if the pictures you attempted to post here were visible, that would be a good start. Anyone seeing those pics in this thread?

Hello Audiocircle,

Glad to know someone reads this stuff!!
About warranty, in China, will have or be honored.  Will have to return to me in China or the manufacturer.
That is the major trade off about buying from me! Shipping costs will eat you up. But then again you will not get it any cheaper then here!!
You can source from American audio dealers and pay twice or three times the price for the same thing. Truth be known, probable built here in China to begin with.
At least with most equipment. Some things still built in the good old USA. Like good old American Sony televisions!!
If someone wants to help with posting photos!!  Be my guest!!  I have already thrown the computer out the ninth floor window and the damn thing has magically re-appeared. I swear that it is smiling and smirking at me. These one eyed monsters hate me!!
Thanks for the wishes of good luck about the audio business!!  God! Knows!! We need it!

The only solution that I can think of to the photos is to redo the whole page and include more details and some more photos of both Shuguang and PirAudio equipment. There does seem to be some interest???

As always, all the best. From China!!

Sincerely,

Ralph @ mingyiaudio.com

Hello Yo2tup!!

Do not wear panties!!  Each their own!!!

Did some checking and Jolida is very very proud of their equipment!!!  Aren't they!!!  Priced through the roof!!!  My opinion!!  The Shuguang power amp SG-502B at $849, the pre-amp SG-200B at $349 and the cd player the CD-208 at $595 plus the airmail shipping to the United States of lets say $500!! Pricey, but that is the costs, if you want it now??? Still beats the other in value and sound quality!!

Add some decent American made speakers and for under $3,000!!!  You have a nice little audio system. I would think that the Magnepans would sound great!!  But that is my opinion and nothing more. Depends on musical and listening taste. Another speaker
that is a great little value is Kent Ho's TS model at $1,100 or his LS model at $500. Made in China on the mainland. Beautiful in all aspects of quality. Becoming a cult favorite for the price range. Shipping is extra!!!  I have just received permission to sell this speaker.
So I am prejudice in my recommendations. Best to listen for yourself!!! Just go to your local dealer and give a listen to the exotic Chinese overbuilt and underpriced equipment???

As always, all the best!! From Ming Yi Audio and China!!!

I bought my :

Jolida jd-9 phono stage
Blaudio pastoral speakers
G&W tw 2006x integrated

Straight from China ( vendors where Timaudio, Coemaudio and Ornec ) And have had no problems , they are all great .  My more expensive Cambridge audio 640A was nothing compared to the cheaper G&W .
Concerning the speakers, My B&W 603s3's (two times as expensive) aren't even close. ( the blaudio's are more in the league of my dad's B&W 801s2's)

It will soon be over , prices will rise.

I can't speak to the BLaudio or the G&W speakers but I just got off the phone with Mike Allen of Jolida. Mike assures me that any piece of his gear you buy from there is NOT a piece of Jolida gear. He has severed any ties to Chinese distributors and in particular the online 'retailers'.

He mentioned that he has seen pieces that have the same case as a particular Jolida product but the boards and design are completely different. In other cases the gray market manufacturer has used inferior parts in his designs. Neither of these are covered under the Jolida warranty.

The next issue is, if you bought a Jolida piece from Timaudio, Mike did NOT receive one cent for his research, development, his PROPRIETARY design, or manufacturing. That is tat amount to stealing, or at the very least buying stolen merchandise.

Now, this doesn't appear to be the case with the Shuguang gear but I've never had one in my hand to inspect the design and PCB's. They too could be some proprietary design that has been 'lifted' and repackaged for Shuguang, but again, I don't know.

The real issue is the protection of copyright and intellectual property rights in China. They have long been openly stealing designs of all sorts and mass producing them and dumping that product back on the market. There is something inherently wrong with that.

...but I digress and this is getting a little too close to political commentary which is verboten here at AC.

The only thing I present is, that piece of audio gear you bought or are considering to purchase from China, where did the design come from, was the designer compensated and what are you going to do if (or when) it breaks?

thats my $.02 but it's your money (and conscience)

Hi ,

The jolida sounds very good, don't know about the parts used...   Don't like the idea of the money going to the wrong place  :(
