Purchased September ’06 just after the current “Passive EQ” was released. Every possible OEM upgrade/option + proprietary upgrades only on this pair, which may find their way into future production speakers. Latest 40 oz. magnet 6.5” Megawoofers installed October ’06 (prior MW were 24 oz).
This “C” suffix was named for “Center” channel use & has no side-firing 10” “MegaWoofer” as per the “M” suffix. The useable cavity space seems better suited for the C version. The M version’s increased bass output may be accompanied by no lower cutoff, increased cabinet talk, & a too-high system Q.

Itemized Proprietary Upgrades, estimated parts cost, all pairs:
1. Matching wire throughout: Stan Warren recipe AWG12 twisted copper pair multi-strand, 30’ total. $.40/ft x 2 conductors = $25. Seller believes this sounds more musical, smoother, powerful & full-bodied vs. the OEM upgrade wire.
2. Ideal non-conductive nylon binding posts: 10 pair total sets, white nylon studs/washers/nuts. No conductive parts & no electrical influence vs. any other known metallic binding post regardless of cost. Music signal passes only between two spade lugs on a nylon stud & compressed together between two nylon nuts. An audible improvement throughout. Estimated parts cost $25.
Merchandise in perfect condition as delivered new; may audition in proper soundroom w/ professionally designed acoustic soffit & excellent ancillary components. IMO & others this is the best VMPS ever. Seller prefers it vs. the discontinued circa $13k RM-X Elixir model. The patent-pending CDW-technology eliminates the only reasonable complaint about state of the art ribbon technology, namely limited polar dispersion. The CDW + passive EQ provide a 180-degree polar dispersion pattern w/ a sharp skirt from 260 Hz up. Vertical dispersion likewise improved though not as markedly as the horizontal.
Original VMPS 5-year limited factory warranty is transferable. Seller is authorized VMPS dealer.
