Introductory Pricing and EXtreme details have been posted. These amplifiers are being designed for those who want the Ultimate EXtreme power house tube amp. The sales of the EXtreme Hurricanes for 2005-2006 were exceptional with the "only one per month limit" being filled throughout all of 2006 (except for July and August while we recovered from the flood). For 2007, we will only allow 6 pairs to be built due to some other larger ventures in the works.
Who wants to be the first to own a new EXtreme MKII Hurricane or Monsoon.
Details can now be fond here: http://www.bellaextreme.com/bella%20custom%20builds.htm

Good morning, Bill.  The new Monsoon looks VERY much like the prior 'Cane but for 'EL34s and the extra 'N7 (?) due to balanced inputs.  Clever, maybe.

The new 'Canes look interesting.  I can tell you one thing from my experience with my new vertical 1006s--

--they require more time to work on...to open and close.  I've replaced the Torx-head screws* with black Allen-head screws (visible in the pic below), and last nite I spent about an hour adding strips of 1/16" and 1/8" SoundCoat to the angled edges of the grilles, and the grilles no longer ring like proverbial bells.  Have SoundCoated the ringing-bell intermediate steel plate, too, and also the bottom the the aluminum topplate.

Am still breaking-in my new main-PS 2nd-pole caps, a 50/660VAC motor-run and a 51/1500 Solen aluminum-can, by paralleling them on the original 2nd-pole caps; soon I'll temporarily disconnect the original 2nd-pole caps, use only the 'propylene pair, and compare an original with a 'propylene-only amp.  Then I'll decide what to do with the main PS.  Have moved the Audioquest Cheetah from the 'Canes to these 1006s, hardwired, thereby eliminated at least one-each pairs of solder and mechanical joints from the signal path.

Little by little I'll get these up to the parts-quality level my 'Canes are; they SURE do sound good!

* If you want my originals as spares, let me know.

Yes Jefferey, the new MK II Monsoons are based on the original Hurricane chassis and the circuitry is "similar" but enhanced and optimized for EL34 tubes. Both designs now come standard with both triode and balanced switching. Whay didn't they do this before :duh:

For the record, there is a reason I stopped using damping material on these products. After speaking with my customers prior to building their amps, I found most consumers would use some type of coupling devises such as Audio Points or similar. Using damping material in conjunction with brass cones is a waste of money as you have two different methods working against each other. You must chose one or the other but not both.

The customer for the *pending pair* just called to inform me he will have to wait till February or March to pick up a pair of EXtreme Hurricane MKII amps. He is still undecided what he is going to do with his current EXtreme Hurricanes as well. He may bi-amp

One pair is now still available at the introductory $8500 complete. Now is you chance to be the second person to own a pair of these units. Sorry, the *first* position has been taken.
