PS voltage

Wayne
when I eventually find one to buy, I am going to have you do a full mod on an SB2.  Initially i can't stretch to the ultimate PS and will be using a modestly priced linear supply as a short term measure.  Can you therefore tell whether your modded SB2s require the same voltage as normal (5vdc I believe) and the same polarity ?

Could you also confirm for me what the polarity is?

Thanks

Ian

All the Squeeze Boxes require 5 volts DC.

A 2.5 mm DC connector is used to plug into the SB.

1.5 amps is the minimum current that a supply should be able to produce.

The DC connector is center pin positive.

The ELPAC WM-075-1950-D5 from Digi-Key is $40.00 and works very well for a cased wall wart.

Mods to the ELPAC do improve the sound.

The Power-one Power Supply works well too. I have one that Wayne modded and it sounds good to me.

I second that on the Power-One. Even stock, it sounds awesome on SB3 and ripple spec is 50x better than the elpac.

What's the model number of the Power One supply?
