Speaker cable advice

I am about to graduate to even better equipment. I am getting the Red Wine Signature 70 monoblocks soon. My question is whether or not to run my bedroom system off of the new Sig 70s which will be driving the main system in my listening room. I am thinking this would be a great idea since any alternative options are a real step down in amplifier quality, but it means running speaker cable up the wall, through the attic and down into the bedroom.
So, please critique this idea and please give me suggestions as to what to use for this longish cable run (50 feet).

That's a LOT of speaker cable. Enough to seriously look at resistance, capacitance, and inductance specs. I'd as Vinnie's opinion on driving that much cable with his product.

Years ago I had temporary need to run 200 feet of speaker cable. My nice speakers sounded like paper cups at the end of a string. If you must use very heavy gauge wiring.
Better yet, for just $140 get a Super T amp:

there's a review of it at 6moons.com

AntiCable $10US/ft. can be a killer if you can deal with the break-in of 200hrs!With using Cyber 211's & Pipedreams I found them to be true to the source, dynamic, great decay, open soundstage and staggering bass.Other cables in house that they outperformed;Stealth silver ribbons,Moray James Cryo copper,Discovery Essence,MIT 750 shotguns. The only cable they did not better were the Omega Mikros [active] at 30 times the price!
Remember there is NO perfect cable as they are system dependent so keep on trucking
The AC however appears Neutral and may well be agood place to start especially @ $10/ft.
Happy Listening Rollo

cheaper than AC and maybe better quality copper and insulation
http://www.ahfartaudio.com/
.
Mine order is on the way. Very helpfull folks too. I don't know what 50ft mean in terms of signal loss etc.
and you will have to be patient for delivery, to say nothing of having to twist a lot of wire and maybe put it in a sheath of some kind. I'm putting my money on these. I will eventually post an impression.

I 2nd trying out anti-cables. I bought my pair in bulk, $2.50 per foot per pair.
Rollo, i can't believe you use these with Pipedreams!!!!
every time i upgrade or tweak my set-up, the Anti-cables get better & better aa
Rollo, have you tried out the Anti-IC's? with eichmann's i feel they are a better product than the anti-cables, in terms of how they compete with all other IC's.

I use Mapleshade's Golden Parallel speaker cable (
http://www.mapleshaderecords.com/audioproducts/speakercable.php
). It is meant for long runs of up to 60'. I bought a 35' run for my speakers. It sounds really good with my Monarch SM-70 Pros and Totem Arros.

gooberdude&shep,
Shep the concept of AntiCable was to eliminate the dielectric as much as possible. Dressing the cable will alter its sound and not in a good way.The mapleshades are agreat alternative as thier designed for long runs.
Gooberdude I only use the AC sprk. cable from the amp to the sub.The AC with the Cyber 211's sounds great however the active Omega Mikros just give me a little more overall.I could live with either, but you know the deal a little bit goes a long way.If you didn't know AC offers asilver IC with silver Bullets.Listened to copper version with Bullet copper and compared to silver from Lector CDP7tl to Loesch preamp. The copper was smooth and a touch laid back[one you could listen to all day without fatiuge] too much so for my setup. The silver was just perfect all around in this combo.Bass was outstanding on both as well as imaging. The silver version is $200US not inexpensive but well worth it[30 day money back guar.] By the way Ipreferred the sprk. cable untwisted. If you need more top end extension then twist away[3 turns per/ft.]Lets twist again like we did last summer.Sorry just showing my age.
May the cord be with you rollo

what I meant was window dressing, as in the baggy cotten stuff someone was selling here a while back.
I didn't imagine that could have any influence on the sound! Am I to understand that enamelled solid core is better in some way than a better quality copper (I'm jumping in the lion's den) with a Teflon insulation?

The dielectric has a big effect on sound, however the copper would tarnish without one.Enamal has a very low absorbtion copared to the rest.Tara now makes cable using a vacum approach with with a 8/9s copper conducter only $18000.00 per meter.I'll stick with the AC THANK YOU. If you go to neotech you can find high purity copper enameled solid core transformer wire.

Running 50 ft. long speaker cables would be a mistreatment to driving amplifers, do unjustice to the driven speakers, and ultimately compromise the sound. If I'd had to go that route, I'd spend lots for $$ on near lossless long cables (impractical, still compromise the sound somewhat). Or, I'd use the $$ saved by not spending on 50 ft. quality speaker cables pair to purchase an alternative amp (a gainclone kit for example if you need more power than your Clari-T).
That said, if you still insist, I'd go buy some DH Labs solid silver cables.

excuse me, I fainted for a while. You did mean $1800,00 per meter? thought so. Bloody cheeky bastards.
I didn't know there was a 8/9's copper. Here I was thinking 7's OCC was the top of the heap. Well it's good enough for me. A short twisted run for my humble set-up.

I have the DH Labs Silver Sonic ic. Very nice. Such a long run of their silver would be mighty pricey.
