I had a chance to hear these at the show. Some of the worst distortion I've ever heard come out of a large speaker. It made me cringe. You could do much better for that kind of money.

Which ones?
The Evolution or the Coltrane?

The Evolution. I missed hearing the Coltrane but Mr. Marten visited our room a few times. We must be doing something right to get his attention  :)

Well we all can mis-identify under show conditions.

Turns out the speaker I thought was being discussed MM3 and the Speaker I heard and commented on were two different speakers.

I think I was in the Evolution Audio Room not Evolution Acoustics, and the speaker I heard was the M2 (Master 2) which had a similar look and size.

See Below,  . . . In any event, they too were quite good, but checking specs, not quite the equal.

Me too, I am in the camp that believe a little bit of distortion can often help to soothe my ears.. :green:

By the way, Rick, how do you like the MBL 101E at the show? Another expensive speaker, I have a friend in Houston who'd just put in his order  :o

This was pretty obvious - anyone would've heard what I did. They were playing some techno music at really high levels. The peaks were excruciating.

Didn't get to hear them but talked to a friend who did. Interesting design.
