I was considering building one of these fine clarinet preamplifiers and was wondering about how they work/match with Solid state amplifiers. The current ss amp I own has a reported input impedance of 100k ohms, so that doesn't (to me) sound like an issue.

But I was wondering, if I ever changed amps what I might be wary (if that is an issue at all) of matching with the Clarinet. Sounds like tube amplifiers or certainly Hagerman amps would match well of course.

My 2 cents....

The output impedance of the Clarinet is 3k!  That is approximately 33.33X your amplifier input Z at 100k.  Many said that to be safe, the ratio between the two (Zin Amp/Zout preamp) should be at least 10 times. You should not have a problem at all.
