Tom Waits "Orphans"

Picked this up on Saturday. I really like disk one and I am listening to disk two right now. Much more mellow but still good. Anyone else got this one?

Been listening lots to this one.  Like three different records - the first rocky / raw edged blues, the second almost mellow ( love the cover of Ramones Danny Says), and the third from a different planet all together.  Wish I still had my 3 cd player so I could stick them on and hit random.  Will have to rip them and do the same to my SD.  Total of 54 tracks - have read 30+ are new.  Very nice sounding, a must if you like Tom Waits.

Is it a compilation?

I haven't bought a Tom Waits album since Rain Dogs, my 5 th. Listen to at least one a week.

Cheers,
Greg

No, it's not a compilation, it's virtually all previously unavailable material. Even the previously available stuff has been re-done, so you have to consider it 3 discs of new content.

I've only started scratching the surface, and haven't even hit 'Bastards' yet at all.  Certainly some great stuff here, although I'm not sure the 'divided by genre' format is ideal. I'm wondering whether the way to view this is as an 'album kit'. ie rip it to computer and then generate a bunch of playlists that mixes-and-matches stuff from all 3 discs into 'albums'.  Endless opportunies for fun, or at least wasting lots of time :-)
