If it's even possible, what about a Superclock?

As a mod to the SB? Wayne, what are your thoughts on this? I suspect trying it on a SB3 is out of the question.

There is no room in the case for any other boards.

There is also a LOT of EMI from the display and RFI from the wireless card.

All of that would be picked up by the lines running from the outboard clock to the board.

It would cause far more problems than anything it might "fix".

Upgrading the power supply to the Ultimate MKII would give a greater improvement.

What about an SB2, pulling the wireless option, and shielding the display?

Upgrading to the Ultimate PS will have a greater impact on the entire quality of the unit's operation than any clock mod.

The internal switching power supply does throw a lot of noise into the DC lines. The latest mods I do reduce this noise, but it is still there.

Running any leads from the digital circuit to an external board will be subject to noise pick-up. Adding an external clock will create more problems with noise pick-up that it might solve.

I first tried using a digital isolation transformer on an early SB2 mod. It picked up a LOT of noise from the leads required to connect it to the board and digital connector. I ended up removing it and the sound was quite a bit better.

You are always welcome to try it out yourself. I will not offer any clock mods.

I figured as much. Suspected you had thought about it.
