The sub is 8 years old, did the large sub of 8 years ago cost that much new? The add sounds kind of funny to me.

I think the main issue is that it's local pickup only in the Detroit area.

afaik, the older larger sub retailed for $649, plus extra for soundcoat, & better wire. tho black wouldn't be my 1st choice for finish, i much prefer the older upright style...

I saw this ad before this thread started and would have snatched it except for the local p/u thing. My in laws live in that neighborhood but I don't see them making a special trip to NYC to deliver a sub.

IMHO, it definately is that there is no option for shiping. Local pickup drastically rerduces your potential number of buyers.
