Hi All,

Just heard today that the SP-2 Preamp/Processor received a runner-up award in the December issue (pg. 62) of Stereophile Magazine for THE BEST AUDIO PRODUCTS OF 2006

The award is given for what the reviewers feel are the best sounding Multichannel Components of 2006.

James, congrats.  When the HMDI issue gets sorted out, I'll be sending my SP 1.7 in to get upgraded.  I realize that could be a bit as cos. from what I understand in the last month just got chips for V. 1.3 and so testing at this point is in its infancy and we may not even sees very many rec'rs, if any, at CES to have it.

Yes I agree Phil it will be a while especially the audio side of it.

In speaking with recording engineers at last months AES Show none of them have even looked at the hi-res recording side of HDMI yet.

James,

Do you have a link/scan/PDF of the award of the SP2 (pg. 62) ?
I would really like to read this !
And congratulations again (you've done a great job with this pre !).
Now, i think we ALL wish that you will do something for the HDMI before 2008 :green:

HI Moz,

No I am sorry I do not have a link. They do not talk about the SP2 they just list it as the runner-up to the $19,000 US Meridian.
