Happy Thanksgiving to y'all everywhere.

I confess that I just can't stand the taste of turkey.  I usually smother the white meat with cranberry sauce and chase it with a lot of wine.  This time, forget the turkey.  No, you are not getting any pictures of naked "turkey" from me.    I am having Chateaubriand and lobster thermidor instead.

We are having the traditional meal, which generally also includes rhutabagas.  Which many may have never heard of such a creature?  Actually 2 turkeys again this year, one deep fried, the other has been brining for a good day already. 

I am like you with turkey, that lobster would be doused in whatever I could find to drown the taste.  That or a lot of George T. Stagg.

We do like turkey and I'll be hot smoking one tomorrow. There's just the 2 of us this year, so I'll probably just make some mashed yams and potatoes and broccoli for the side dishes. I may also make stuffing, but I haven't committed to that.

Turkey , mashed potatoes , sweet potatoes , dressing ,  gravy , cranberry sauce , asparagas , rolls , pecan pie ... pretty trad but it only comes once a year .

This year I'll be working Thanksgiving- it'll be the first time I can remember that I didn't fix a turkey or prime rib for the fam.  But by Dad crushed his foot, so he & Mom aren't up to the trip, and my brother has a new gf & is spending Thanksgiving with her.  Our hotel does a brunch, plus we're catering a banquet for 125 that night.  So I'll spend 15 hours at work.  The only part that annoys me is that I'll miss the games that day.

Thursday (wife's family):

Roast Turkey; Cornbread Dressing; Mashed Potatoes; Gravy; Cranberry Sauce; Cranberry/Orange/Pecan Relish; Baked White Beans; Baked Squash; Chardonnay; and Pumpkin Pie & Coffee.

Friday (just the two of us):

Pizza & Beer

Saturday (my family):

Double Smoked Ham; Baked Sweet Potatoes; Broccoli Salad; Green Bean Cassorolle; Scalloped Potatoes; Chiraz; and Carrot Cake & Coffee

Sunday (just the two of us):

Ham and/or Turkey Sandwiches; Other Leftovers; Beer; and SLEEP!

(and, of course, lots of Football all weekend....)

Sounds like WEEZ knows how to run the moguls.

We asked out teenage boys what they wanted for Thanksgiving dinner. After delivering a lecture on how meaningless the whole thing really is in a society where we eat like that all the time, they opted for vegetarian lasagna.

I don't know how you guys know everything you're going to have. All I know is there will be turkey and the other standard dishes as well as I few I'm sure I don't know about.
