Is there an attenuator that can be put inline in a speaker cable?

I have an extra amp to power a sub with but will need a way to adjust the volume separately from my other amps. A volume control I can solder into the speaker cable would be the easiest if there is something I could use.

Thanks for any help.

Hey!

Hmmm... why can't you put a volume pot on the input side of the amp? I think it would be much better.

Well, if you must put on at the speaker end than there are some that use by custom home installer. It might work but not sure. Other here will fill in the rest of whatever I missed :D

Still I can't see why you can't make one for the input front of your amp :?

Take care,

Perhaps one of the AudioPlex TVC series volume controls would fit the bill? It's not in the cable, but it is in-line with it...

Yep, you should definitely put a potentiometer on the input of the amp vice output.  Much better solution.
