Ideal for insulating or simply dressing up internal wiring as well as for making interconnects and speaker cables. Used over bare wire it's simply the best sounding insulation in my experience.
Filament silk by the way is made from the long (upwards of 3,000 meters) contiguous fibers pulled from the silkworm cocoon. This as opposed to spun silk which is made from the very short leftover fibers that must be spun to make threads as with cotton.
Available in two sizes.
The small braid has an outside diameter of approximately 0.055" and an inside diameter of approximately 0.025", perfect for 22-24 gauge solid core wire or equivalent diameters of stranded wire.
The large braid has an outside diameter of approximately 0.085" and an inside diameter of approximately 0.04", perfect for 18-20 gauge solid core wire or equivalent diameters of stranded wire.
