Actually it has been answered before and I doubt B, has seen this new asking.

I would say, I doubt it, since Brian told me some time ago that he has a problem with the "altitude" there.

But never say never.


Just found out the other day that we will be at The Home Entertainment Show (THE Show) in Newport Beach in a couple months.

It looks like the room will be shared with Spread Spectrum Technologies (AMPZILLA), Wywires, and VMPS at this moment.

I just finished 3 days at RAMF 2011 mostly listening to speakers.  I can't believe how good a bargain Brian's speakers are.  My relatively modest system (newish RM-40's with an oldish Bryston 4B-ST and a Velodyne HGS-15 that is barely on) was not obviously surpassed until I was listening to >$20k speaker pairs driven by >$8k electronics, in other words 3-4x the price.  And that was only by the best items in those categories, most of them I wouldn't take over what I have.

The bad news for me is that I'm afraid I can improve on my amplifier; I'm going to have to do some more research.

There were some really exciting products in almost all categories, though.  Overall an unbelievably rewarding experience.

I had the same impression in three days of listening to other exhibits at the recent Newport show.  The RM30 Series II was sonically in the top rank of systems displayed there regardless of cost (and was singled out by positivefeedbackonline as one of the top three systems at that show).  As for amplification, I think the new Series II Ampzilla 2000 Monoblocks are the best solid state amps I've heard. 

Be sure you have the Gen II CDWG's on your RM 40's, as the improvement in sound quality from them is substantial.

You are preaching to the choir.  And your impressions are not in any way a "slight" to other high quality speakers, but more a recognition of B's lifelong philosophy.

And your BRYSTON is only slightly "long in the tooth", but Brian is correct, that the AMPZILLA line (and the new BRYSTON "squared" line) are incredibly musical and accurate with VMPS.

I have both, and pretty much cycle between them.  They "are" different in their sonics but both are GREAT sounding.  I may tend toward the NuFORCE for much of my personal listening, but I might think that is because I like a little more "high frequency energy" balance in the spectrum.

The AMPZILLA is more tubelike and smoother, or maybe fuller MR, but still with great bass and highend.  The AMPZILLA sounds like the NuFORCE's if you had a tube preamp in front of them.

The AMPZILLA 2000 Second Edition "is" the monobloc and can be found HERE

You will find specs and graphs for them also.

The AMPZILLA 2000 and the Son of AMPZILLA look the same from the front but the Son is a Stereo Amp and the 2000 is a Monobloc.





Both Brian and I are AMPZILLA dealers and other dealers can be found HERE.

Since I am your VMPS dealer, I can help you with the AMPZILLAs.

If you want to hear them on VMPS speakers, I beleive we will be using the AMPZILLA 2000 Second Edition at THE SHOW in Vegas in January.
