By the way, you can tell your wife that a great many people respect your opinions/facts/designs ect...
What are the chances you've heard the Hawthorne SI?
QuoteWhat are the chances you've heard the Hawthorne SI?Sorry, I have not heard the driver so I cannot really offer much of an opinion. What I like about my two way style of design is the low crossover point. I have a couple of other design options using one Alpha 15A (similar to SI woofer) paired with smaller Fostex full range drivers in a smaller baffle, but I still crossover at about 200 Hz. My goal was to keep the crossover point real low and out of the way.
Have you trialed any single driver OB's with seperate bass augmentation? I find it is interesting to hear each ones journey with OB's. There seems to be lots of different ways to achieve great results.
Scott,Unless there is some way of adding length to the slot/port, the Fostex drivers are not going to work well in the design. I would recommend a Lowther PM6C as the low budget option, it will sound great.
Bob,I never even considered your comments as any slight or offense. There are so many speaker projects and drivers I would like to work on and only so many hours in the day and so much money in my wife's checking account. No appologies necessary.
