My old Rotel died. I bought a Sensui 5000a from a friend and it died... (in one night mind you for $70) Now I am just that much poorer and without any amplifier at all. I plan to get my Chip Amp running but I lost the power board....

I have not been able to find any Sharp or Teac amplifiers. There was some Sharps on here but at the time I could not get one.

I am wondering if there is something else new/er on the market that is similiar.

How much power do you need and what are you willing to spend?

20-50wRMS is plentiful. I am trying to spend as little as possible. My Chip Amp will do 50wRMS but it is impossible to use it without the parts anyhow. I am going to guess at least a month before I get it running.

The beauty of the Sharp and Teac is that they where $70-120 everywhere I just had completely ignored the audio world for awhile and had no idea, but I was also under the impression I was going to have a working amplifier until I got my chip amp working.

I have a 20w NAD integrated that's sitting around doing nothing at the moment.  Its model number is 310.  You can find the manual online here: http://207.228.230.231/manual/NAD-310.pdf and some marketing information here: http://207.228.230.231/info/NAD_310.pdf

Mine is about nine years old, and has been unused for the past four or five. It had been paired with a pair of 6ohm KEF Q15 monitors, and I always enjoyed the sound.  It's already packaged up in the original box.  Let me know if you might be interested.  I'd sell it well within your price range.

You're not shopping very hard.   :|  You can find some Sharp pieces on the net, even eBay most under Home Theatre classifications.

Perhaps I am just stupid? Everytime I type in Sharp SD-EX111 into Ebay nothing came up! I searched Audiogon as well, and google.

However I think my problem is solved. Thanks for the offer on the NAD by the way, chadh.

Did you see this earlier? http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=33097.0

Thanks, and yes I did. However a member was nice enough to just offer me one before that was on the board.
