Pictures of Rosewood RM30s

B was kind enough to send me some pictures of my soon to be shipped Piano Rosewood RM30s.  I can't wait to see these in person...

If these look ANYTHING like the pictures,  I'm gonna have to figure out how to clean the slobber off of them!

BTW - if these pictures don't show up, you can see them in my gallery: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?action=gallery;area=browse;user=38058

Bob, your pair is slightly darker than the pix.

The finish has a shimmering, tactile quality quite unlike the "under glass" look of many coats of clear gloss lacquer over veneer.  You expect ripples when you touch it.

The finish is achieved by applying glaze over the satin finish and hand-buffing for 2 hours.

My bad....  I thought these were mine.

What's happening with the wave guides?  I requested black because I that that was all that was available.  If I could get rosewood, I'd prefer that.  I gotta say, matching the guides to the cabinet elevates the entire look.

Waveguides are the same veneer as the cabinet, as shown in the pictures.

I believe the early shipment of veneered Guides had "issues" and so for a while the only thing available was the Piano Black.

Apparently those issues have been solved.

What kind of glaze and where did you get that finish? It is truly stunning I can tell just by looking at the pictures.

Maybe I should try my Meguir's glaze that I use on my car as I tried a high quality furniture wax but it didn't give the satin the glossy look I'd been trying to get. It did however help alot.
