The AV123 X-CS center channel is an MTM sealed box design that Danny worked on.  That would also fit into your idea of a two way, but with two woofers.

Wonder why nobody has designed an 'updated' version of this classic. (it wasn't physically 'large')...

I was hesitant to post anything as I saw it when zero replies was made, but in 5 days has gone up to 3 pages.  My initial hesitation was "why the Gr Research forum?"  It seems out of context with what you are looking for with most designs ported.

What I hesitated to post...With your lamenting the loss of the Advents, within that era there were basically 4 'affordable' brands in acoustic designs. Advent, AR, Gemini, and EPI.  The latter two are still available, with some updating, through Human Speakers.

Actually, the Large Advent was large compared to current two-way speakers (which are mostly ported).
