Ayre Myrtle Blocks

I was curious about these mysterious wooden blocks. I read many claims about the wonders of Myrtle wood, and decided to try them out. I,m glad that I did. $18.00 for a set of three. I palced these blocks under my CD player, preamplifier, and amplifiers. I had other isolation products available to compare them to: Acoustic Dream balls, Boston Audio Design Tune Blocks, and Adona platforms. All and all, I was impressed. None of the other above totally outclassed the Ayre blocks. In fact I had to go back and forth to decide what I preferred. The best place I found for the Ayre blocks was underneath my SAS 10A preamplifier. They replaced the Boston Audio Design Tune blocks under my preamplifier. The Arye blocks gave me a wider soundstage and depth with better lateral detail as well as more air and tonality in the midrange. The Tune Blocks offered a little better clarity but was thinner sounding without the air, widgth, and depth of stage.

I think these are the same blocks as the Cardas Golden cuboids! I did find a difference with them below my preamp (much like what you observed) but in the end preferred the Black Diamond Racing cones.
