Subwoofer for Thiel 2.4

I am getting the Thiel 2.4 in a couple of months but am at a loss as to which subwoofer to partner it with. You would think the choice would be simple i.e Thiel SS1 and their passive XO but that's another 3.4K. Open to suggestions with a 1-2K budget e.g REL R505.

Hsu has always worked well for me. I am currently crosssing mine over at 35 Hz to my SP Technnology Timepieces to very good effect. I think they are the lowest price "good" subwoofers out there.

ACI's Force XL gives superb seismic support to my Thiel CS2.4s! They are not only designed and engineered in USA but made in USA! They are attractively priced and Mike is always there to give advice and support.

Russell,
I have heard of them but that was quite sometime ago.

Denjo,
I have to admit I have never heard of these subs. Currently reading the review in Positive Feeback.

Still early but a good begining what's more both of them are under 1K.

Thanks Guys,
Rabin

I've also heard great things about ACI subs. I wonder if their drivers are made in the USA.

By the way, Hsu subs are designed and built in the USA, too. Oops, just looked at their site and see that thay claim only to be designed and engineered in the USA, so I guess they're manufactured in SE Asia. When I bought mine in 1994 (the models made out of Sonotubes - cardboard cement column forms - they were built in the USA.

Thanks folks  :D  We feel strongly that our subs are some of the most musical subs available, at any price. And we back them with the best warranty in the biz . . .  a full 5 years . . . compare that to others.

The drivers are sourced from a Northern CA OEM that we've been working with for around ten years. Some of the best quality drivers I've ever worked with. I believe they source many of their parts from Asia, as do most OEMs.

I agree with everyone about Hsu Research and ACI. Based on my dealings with ACI and Mike, I think they are top notch.

Another company to consider is M&K. I use their MPS-5310 and LFE-4 bass management controller. Note that the pro gear is pretty competitively priced by pro audio dealers. Also, M&K's warranty is 10/15 years http://www.mkprofessional.com/warranty.htm.
