is opamp type of pwr amplifiers superior when it comes to sound the answear is NO
we have constructed an amplifier that doesnt use opamp principals and which
is very wideband dc - 3Mhz there have been no problems with instability and
there is no global feedback only some local feedback the sonics are stunning
the o/p topology is class-b something we used to associate with low end
there is some distortion but at that level we think its effect is marginal
