Hello James,

This is the quality of my outlet in my home theater.
as you can see there are many hot-neutral sag and I am wandering if the TorusPower conditioner can help me soft these problems. please forward this info to your engineering department for analysis.
if you need complete file, let me know,

Hello James,
is it possible to return a TorusPower conditioner units after a short period, let say 30 days, if it does not solve my power problems.
regards

Hi Ibouchard,

I am sorry but there is no TORUS return policy at Bryston it would be a dealer issue.

I am not an expert at this but the Torus does not "Maintain Voltage" at a set level nor does it "Regenerate" the power sinewave. The Torus 'Isolates', 'Protects' and provides a very 'low impedance high current' source  for the equipment.

As I understand it maintaining Voltage has two issues 1. The voltage is increased at the expense of the Current. 2. Most audio equipment these days are not all that sensitive to Voltage fluctuations. Switching power supplies do not care at all about power supply fluctuations and linear power supplies (like in the Bryston gear) have a very wide range over which they will operate.

John,

I am trying to solve a problem with my SP2 / 9B SST. on most voltage flutuations (see my previous post) my SP2  reboots or I hear a big POP or CRACK in my speaker. Do you thing it might be a problem with my SP2 or 9B ?
I have tried to install a small smart-ups 700 on the SP2 with no success, so I am shopping for something geared toward home theater setup.

The SP2 will reboot if the voltage drops below 104 volts to protect the software.

James,
Voltage has to drop below 104 volts for how long before a reboot?

I guess it is time to send my SP2 for repair, it reboots at around 116 volts?!?

Hi Ibouchard,

We can certainly have a look at it for you but I have never seen the reboot occur before the 104 volt test setting.

In the log you provided there was an extreme event here with a sag to 73 volts:

1737   29/10/2006 15:38   H-N Sag    73    Vrms   44.0 cycles

That doesn't look too good.... the rest looks fine though.

I was talking about the fluke unit :-)

I think I have a voltage fluctuation problem as well :-(
