They call that wave "K2" because it's so big. The location is Granny's Rapid on the Wenatchee River in eastern Washington.  Sure wish I could get paid to do this...

She recently had a "Goddess Party", where 20+ beautiful women all came over to party. No men were allowed, so they sent me kayaking.

I'm sorry dude, but the kayaking would be the last thing on my list.  

Here's the way I would play it.  Just about the time the party gets going, I would show up like a wounded animal.  

"Oh honey, I am so sorry to be here with all 20 of your beautiful friends, but my car got a flat and the kayak blew of the roof of my car and my special most favoritist paddle went with it.  There are supposed to be thunderstorms tomorrow and I ran out of Gold Bond anti-itch powder.  

So let me show you all how the stereo sounds.  (Turn on the sub, crank up the tunes, change into party clothes and as the sympathy for all of my troubles still fills the room, I suddenly find myself the only male amongst 20+ beautiful females".

Yeah your having fun on that K2 rapid, but just think of the possibilities.

Cool! Another river person... Yeah, that is the biggest wave in the last rapid on the river.  On the raft trips, the guide hypes the size of the last wave all the way down the river, and even though there are plenty of huge waves on the rest of the river, K2 dwarfs 'em all.  Going down deep into the trough and flying off the top is great fun in a raft, provided you are then able to miss the bus-eating sized hole just downstream, called "Suffocator". That particular hydraulic scares the bejeezus out of my frail heart.  Fortunately it's not that hard to miss if your craft is in control.

The picture is not stretched... this is one of Laws of  kayaking: everything looks half as big and half as scary in photographs as it did when you were there in person.  

Surfing a wave like that is hard to describe.  The water is ripping underneath your hull at HIGH speed, the wave is constantly surging and changing shape, and you are able to carve back and forth, spin, dance and essentially stay one step ahead of chaos. It's mind blowing and completely addicting.  In fact, in many ways it shares the same properties as certain procreative endeavors...

I've got to say that paddling a whitewater river is just as much fun and pleasureable as being with the opposite gender, except the river is a lot more predictable!  If it came down to making a choice to give up one forever, I would have to think about it for a loooong time.

I'm sorry but I didn't know you could get electricity in CAVES so that you could even run a HiFi system!

My boyfriend (read "my man") who is an amazing triathlete and an awesome Mr. Fix It when it comes to anything with two wheels is useless with my hifi.  I've told him a million times how to turn the system on to use it for something as simple as audio for the TV and forget it. I think the dog now knows how to do it but he's a lost cause. Why? Cuz he doesn't care. That's not his thing.

He'll be happy to give me his opinion on the latest kit I'm running an a/b on, but if I try to talk about the finer points of system synergy his eyes roll back. He runs with a walkman and deep down I know he's supportive but frankly doesn't think that you need much more than a walkman to enjoy music.

It's just a question of interest not round hairy things.

sad to say, the only female currently in my house is my cat. I think she would prefer to have it quiet. My last girl thought my main rig sounded terrible. She said that she bought a pair of $100 speakers that sounded the same. The girl before her loved to listen to it. She said that the only reason to get rid of it, should be to buy a better one. Gee, I miss her. Sometimes, I will I had a 'tin-ear', I could have saved myself $3300 on speakers!

My wife could care less about sound quality and claims she would spend more time down in the listening/HT room if i allowed her to do some decorating.
The thing is, she already has a couple of rooms upstairs for that so i told her no, on the wood mini blinds as they might hurt acoustics   .

My daughter who is 17, would rather listen to her low quality downloaded music on her 179.00 shelf systym.

Although not female, my 10 year old son could care less about sound quality, although he did ask if he could have my SLA-1 AMP when he noticed me moving it out of the systym recently for comparison to my new Legacy [coda] amp.

His reasoning for wanting the little amp was that i had the lid off, and he thought all the exposed computer parts   were cool looking.

I know i am getting a little off topic here, but i think the future of high end gear is looking extremely bleak.
