All Things Must Pass - Remastered - CD

GN Records/Capitol.
Just picked this up from Amazon. Really excellent remaster and engaging content. Except for some of the bonus tracks like "What is Life" - the backing track (instrumental); and "My Sweet Lord (2000)". I never owned this as an LP as "My Sweet Lord" was played to death on the radio when it was released which really ruined it for me. Not just because it was played ad infinitum, but also the poor quality of the broadcast and my radio equipment degraded the tune for me to a "so-so, ho hum, gosh that's boring" status. What a dope I was! (And why do you think they call it dope, eh?) The version on this CD is strikingly emotional. I had no idea George could sing so well and convincingly. Plus, mix in Eric Clapton, some Derek and the Dominoes members, Bad Finger, Billy Preston, and Ringo - not bad. My favorite cuts have to be the non-Phil Spectorized bonus tracks. No dis toward Phil intended - his treatments were mainly good. One more nit to pick - absolutely hate the colorized cover. I can understand a "freshen up", but put it inside the jacket only. For quality sound, content, and enjoyableness (I know, no such word, but its Friday and I'm tired) this CD release is a definite two thumbs up!!

Yeah this version is nice, I got it when it first came out in the boxed version.  If you like this you will probably also like the newly remastered version of Concert for Bangladesh.  Lot of the same people, plus some stellar additions (Leon Russell and Bob Dylan)

Yes, that will be my next purchase (CFB). I caught the video on Public Broadcasting the other night. It got me all excited again to get it.
