I hope this is the right place to ask this. I recently bought Marantz cd-67 (don't laugh) seriously modded.
Believe it or not, for the price I paid, it sounds great! Sonically it blows the 63SE mk11 I used to have out of the water. BUT...(this is a first in my experience) It refuses to play about 5% of my cd's. No they are standard one's of different companys. Has anyone an idea about this? Is the laser dying or what?
I really don't want to have to send this back to the shop (destructive shipping/cost) thanks

Is it possible that they are hybrids or DualDisk and you don't even realize it? I have a very high end CD player that will not play DualDisk. Fortunately the only DualDisk I own is SnowPatrol and I kinda think it sucks anyway......

Could be hybrid discs and also could be copyright protection vs. older transport.
