Ordered From CDbaby.com

I heard a CD in the Emotive Audio Designs / Symposium Panorama Loudspeaker room at RMAF “Yve Evans: 3 Degrees Celsius” And I really enjoyed it, so I ordered it today and get this Email from them, thought it was cool.

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with
sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure
it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over
the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money
can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party
marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of
Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in
our private CD Baby jet on this day, Thursday, October 26th.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby.  We sure did.
Your picture is on our wall as 'Customer of the Year'.  We're all
exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

Thank you once again,

Derek Sivers, president, CD Baby

That's classic.
CD Baby is a great site. I like the way you can audition all tracks of the CD at some length (2 min).

I discovered this recently - Joe Weed "The Vultures" - acoustic covers of guitar classics from the 50s and 60s.
Really well done and immaculately recorded.

I always go tor the 3 for $15 deals. It's an experiment as the artists are not known by me but I've been lucky and get at least one if not 2 out of three good cds. I think my favorite aspect of cdbaby is they take paypal.
I recommend Ross Beach if you want some good hippie music.

I always like to see folks support the independent musicians & sellers.

I've gotten some great jazz from CD Baby including several releases on the Smalls label that were recorded in the club.

Hopefully others will see this thread & check out cdbaby.com.

I also like Mapleshade but all of their artists recorded to their label.

Just got Jennifer Leitham's new cd "The Real Me" from cdbaby a few days ago.  A Must Own for piano trio lovers, especially dbl bass lovers.  Cd got here fast, too, 2 or 3 days at most.

This looks like my kind of album - I am a fan of David Grisman, an incredible Mandolin player (and collector)

I see that there are thousands of the $5 CDs (a little hard to search) but I assume this Vultures CD is not in that category?

Just a update on my order I got from CDbaby.com. They shipped it out pretty fast and no damage.

The Yve Evans CD I got is awesome, great music and sonics. Will defiantly give them some more business :thumb:.

Be careful, cdbaby is very addictive.  My first order was in 2001 and I have been placing monthy orders ever since.  They do have some amazing artists in their inventory.  OBTW, when a label goes out of business and an artist gets the rights to the inventory, you generally see them show up at cdbaby.

Customer service is top notch and the people there are just down to earth nice folks.

Enjoy,
L

They have a good selection, so what are some of the better artists (or CDs) to check out (jazz, rock).

This site is very addictive.  Great service too.

Tony Kaltenberg - "On The Wing of The Great Spaceship" with Michael Manring and Alex Kelly  - awesome guitar work on this one.  If you like Michael Hedges work, look no further

Mark McCain/Erika Johnson - " Touch the Strings" - more acoustic guitar and cello, very nice

Welcome to AC, John.

I look forward to Tic's comments as I've been very pleased w/ the CDs I've purchased from CD Baby.  I've not found modern Blues to my liking, but until this afternoon I'd never heard the bands with which you're associated.  Considering the quality of those I sampled, I might have to step a bit outside my comfort zone and take one or both for a spin.
Here's to hoping you meet with much success in your efforts with ZBQ and Stephen Ferrone.

Regards,

-Jim
