Never buy from someone with no feedback is a good rule as a lot of the too-good-to-be-true deals are just that and always buy from someone with 201 positive Audiogon feedback points :o ...

ETR,

Are you going to take the SACD 1000 down to your neighbor for modding?

I think Stan's pretty backed up with orders right now, especially with the 399 Philips SACDs that people are sending him. I'm going to wait until this summer

Indeed.  Let us talk more about the talk that there's nothing left to talk about...

 :?

My SACD 1000 is burning in.  A competent machine.  In stock form, not the equal of my smART DIO/Sony DVP-S7000 combo, but hey it plays those Sackdees! :)  Now I need to actually buy a few of those overpriced glorified CD's to try out the magic of DSD.  ANd no, the samplers they include (well the one I listened to anyway) don't cut it for me.  Not a classical fan.  I too am waiting for mods by Stan W. (maybe someone else).  But I need to log a year or so to make sure it taint gonna crap out on me first! :)  Later Gents.

So how is someone supposed to GET good feedback if nobody buys anything from them?  There's a Catch 22 for ya... heh!

We could just do it w/out the football...

A beverage forum. A good beer is always nice, but a good wine is better. Unfortunately the price of 2 or 3 good bottles of wine gets you an entire keg of great beer.

Maybe with a little bit of Marbles signature touch  added to liven the place up a bit.

Eric,

Do you know if Rogue still make beer?  They made the only fruit beer I could tolerate several years ago.   A lot of good beers come from the Northwest...Deschutes, Widmer, Pyramid...heck Henry Weinhard made one of the first American beers that I thought had flavor way back when.  Some of the better beer commercials came from Henry's and Rainier beer.  I'd like to get copies of those if anyone knows a place that has them.

cheers,

Dick

You betcha  go to www.rogue.com for a list. Two of my favorites are Shakespeare Stout and Dead Guy. Henry's beer sucks IMO

We can rename it, or move it into another section. We can even change "motorcycle racing" into "car racing"...  :o

Any of you guys want to be, arhhh, "Facilitator"??

about Henry's...yes it does suck, but it didn't when it first came out. I had just gotten back from a tour in Germany and it was about all I could drink without gagging.  Things have gotten better. :D

It was actually worth a damn at one point? :o When did Henry's go bad? It's been nasty as long as I recall.
