Sonically, I don't know
In terms of neatness, tho, electrical tape is awful. It gets kinda sticky after a while, ooey gooey! I'd suggest teflon (plumber's) tape for wrapping and heatshrink for strain relief and tidying up the ends. You can get them from your local hardware and Ratshack stores
