Remote frequency on SP1.7
« on: 23 Oct 2006, 06:01 pm »
I'm trying to put my sp1.7 in a wooden cupboard (I know fancy hiding it away !!), anyway the Infra red extender I'm using works with all other equipment except the SP1.7. The standard IR receiver has a bandwidth of 40kHz, however there is another version i can purchase with 100kHz bandwidth will this work?

Cheers

I use the Xantech 291 IR extender for all my hidden equipment. It's a small receiver that wires to a connecting block. Then you distribute wires with emitters to all the equipment in the cabinet...

With my SP2 I plug the cable directly into the rear panel. With equipment that only have IR receivers on the front panel you use little emitters that stick on. Works great.

I bought it here

Thanks Bruce, I already have a IR extender I was using for other stuff http://www.keene.co.uk/multi.php?mycode=IRBKITS.

However I'm trying to decide if it doesn't work because the reciever doesn't have the bandwidth (the standard reciever is only 40KHz).

Cheers
