How to make my component video cable????
« on: 23 Oct 2006, 02:59 am »
I ran 3 lengths of RG6 coax through my walls to make a component video cable. and stubbed them out of my ceiling through a low voltage box.  I've looked at Partsexpress, Ram and 123av for the wall plates that have  F to RCA adapters built in but no luck.  How do you recommend I terminate the three RG6 cables, using a wall plate, to get the component video signal from my DVD to my projector?  Where do I find the parts?

Thanks

I did the same thing for our theater, I bought all my wall plates from parts express.

I bought a three port wall plate and put these in:

I just took a sharpie and colored the plastic insert to correspond to the wires I had run. You just need to terminate the coax with the male f connectors and screw it on the back. There are also RCA compression type connectors for coax, if you went that route you could use these: I would probbably rather use the f connectors for in-wall use because there is no chance of them coming loose.
