Gas Meeting Space

2nd attempt here-

hey guys,

I mentioned the idea of renting out space & originally thought about it as a chance for us to get together more often.  My old apt. is somewhat centrally located (270 & Dougherty Ferry) and the building is not connected ( 99.5% sure) to any other apartments.     aa

I thought it would be a good place for us to mix & match some of our favorite gear and eventually come up with a few "reference combinations".  If things work out we could ask manufacturers to submit demo gear and we could comment on it in our newsletters.  In our group we have access to some nice easily movable speakers and plenty o' gear.

Here's the great part- the clubhouse rental is downright cheap- $110 for a Saturday and only $60 if we clean up afterwards.  They have a fridge, large screen tv, kitchen and bath.  They say the room holds up to 39 people but maybe we could limit it to 10 for the first time just in case.
I didn't mention what we planned on doing with the space but I think it could serve us well.

What'da guys think?

WOW!!!  That's a cool idea.  A friend of mine invited me to a party at a clubhouse in an apartment complex.  It was great.  The kitchen access, the large space, and the funiture made it an ideal setting.  Does this club house also have multiple rooms, ie. pool table room, great room, meeting room?  Having two rooms would make it very fun.

Good idea.

How does it appear from an acoustic point of view?

glad you're interested Mike and Bob.  It's a sizable room with attached kitchen- all one big room with a vaulted ceiling.  Guesstimating it's 16' at it's widest point (the kitchen) and maybe 18-20' deep.  It would be absolutely perfect in warmer weather as it is very close to the pool and sauna.   We have Bryan in our group- no worries on the acoustics.

By the way, sounds like congratulations are in order for Bryan who sounds like he and Glenn from GIK acoustics may have combined forces.

We're still 'negotiating' on that but looks like it will work out in the long run.

As for the meeting, I think it's a great idea.
