What's the input tube compliment?  Cayin is supposedly pretty good stuff.

Josh...the A70-T uses two 12AX7EH's and two 12AU7's in the preamp.

tvad...the manual that came with my A70-T unit lists the power output identically to what is listed on the VASAudio.com site (KT88, 2x55W, 8ohms Ultralinear, 2x26w, 8ohms Triode).  I'll check with VAS to see what might be the reason for the differences...

Please do. It's a substantial difference.

FWIW, the power output listed on Acoustic Sounds for the A70-T are even substantially lower than what they list for the lower-model A50-T (35w, 8ohms UL), so I do suspect that the Acoustic Sounds specs for the A70-T are wrong...

Send me your e-mail address and I'll be happy to forward a PDF file of the A-70T users manual I downloaded.

I'm sure it's the same one available here;

http://store.acousticsounds.com/browse_detail.cfm?Title_ID=16538

This manual (as well as the product page) lists the specifications that you mentioned above.  My manual that came with my A70-T that I picked up has different specifications that I mentioned above.

Is there a release date for the A-100T?

I'll find this out on Monday when I can reach VAS...

It could be a different revision that a different amount of feedback.  More feedback can yield a bit more output sometimes.

A little more investigation reveals more differences between the Acoustic Sounds specs and the unit I just received:

- The Acoustic Sounds specs (and downloadable manual) match the specifications listed on the manufacturer's website in China: http://www.sparkaudio.com/ecp02.asp?id=127

- However, Acoustic Sounds specs (and downloadable manual) says that the A70-T is auto-biasing, but my unit requires manual biasing.

- Acoustic Sounds specs (and downloadable manual) says that the A70-T has a "Tube selector", allowing for the use of a variety of tubes other than KT-88.  My unit does not have the tube selector (in its place is the biasing controls).

Once again, I'd like to stay away from too much speculation, but VAS may have requested some changes for the US market...

FYi - the A70-T specs listed on VASAudio.com are correct for current A70-T integrateds sold in the US; VAS Audio requested the changes a few months ago.  Anyone that has the biasing controls (instead of the tube-selector switch) on their unit has the most recent version.

Also, the A100-T will be available in the US in about two weeks...
