Yes, Thanks for the Ether is my favorite album of theirs. Their covers on The Lost & Found are interesting (the live versions are better).

Eclectic, yes. A lot of their music is not exactly acoustic, however (the recording quality on their albums is not reference level either). They often use distortion on their cellos. You can hear samples on their website and amazon to be sure you like them.

I always liked the song "The Olde HeadBoard", they use a Black Sabbath drum beat in it.  I saw them on Conan O'Brien a long time ago around the Halloween season.  I think that was where I first heard them.
