Well, yeah, but why would you want to use something toxic such as lead when copper would be just as good or better?

Are you currently having problems with RF? Or is this a cure in search of a problem?

yes i have a rf problem.. a slight signal through my speakers i just thought the lead or as you say copper may work as a temporary solution before i purchase proper mains cables

What exactly are you hearing? Are you hearing radio stations coming through your speakers or are you just hearing some hum and some buzz?

more of a hiss.. gets louder as the volume is turned up it sounds bad when there is a lull in the music

If it's a hiss, it sounds more like it's something being generated by your preamp or amp than anything to do with power cords or RF shielding. What components are you using in your system?

The hiss might also be a ground loop. Are all of your components plugged into the same circuit, power strip or surge protector? Do you have a cable TV connection?

I agree it has to do with the source compnets, pre, amp, ect. Are the interconnects you are using shielded? I use triple shielded interconnects and not a single problem.

You can buy an isolation transformer that breaks the ground from the cable box. I believe Parts Express carries them, look here.
