Guess so - I had trouble earlier and just tried and was only able to get to the main page and got this message after a minute or two:

"Error 504 '' Gateway Timeout. Try reloading the Web page.
Retype the address in your browser.
Check your computer's Internet connection.
"

I hate to say this, but I've seen more breakdowns in that particular website than every other site I visit COMBINED.....

I normally don't post here.... But maybe I'll do so more often.....

Gee... I'm suffering from some major withdrawal here. I hadn't had any significant probs
with the site lately until yesterday.

Wanted to do some research that I know is on the site and now I can't get to it...

So it goes.

Hope its nothing serious with data loss (gee, did somebody skip the electric bill???)

Yup. And hardly the first time it's gone down for more than 24 hours.

Gotta agree with Todd, the Asylum's flakier than all the other sites I regularly visit combined.

I spoke with one of the forum moderators today who has been in touch with others who are remote but have full access to the servers. It seems the servers are shut down because they have been unable to access them by their IP addresses - the DNS cache is expired. Phone messages have been left for Rod Morris on both home and office lines.

Can you imagine the head banging all the Outsiders are doing? Withdrawal from not being able to attack anyone about politics, religion, or race can be awful.

The "Outside" asylum is a great site for catching up on the political scuttlebutt. It's not just about bashing each other, but keeping up with the opposing viewpoints. I try not to bash but I doubt I'm successful at this from the POV of the opposing side.

You are right, I'm pulling my hair not being able to discuss the political landscape for more than a few days. At least the current favorite media subject matter (Foley) is an idiotic topic IMHO so it's probably just as well.

I wish my new tubed preamp would hurry up and get here so I'd have other distractions as well...
