I've so far not bothered to look into getting my SP1.7 upgraded to an SP2, as the differences between the two models do not (from my particular perspective at this particular time) seem to justify the cost of the upgrade. But I'm very interested in some of the possible future software upgrades to the SP2 that were being discussed a few months back, and certainly would upgrade if they became available. So, is there any recent news on when (or, indeed, if) we'll be seeing parametric EQ on the SP2? And any chance of Dolby Headphone output?

We have not even looked at the EQ option yet so I would say we are a least 6 months away.

The upgrade is quite significant to me 
You get a faster, smoother, more detailed and "easier and more powerful" preamp on the digital way, with great software updates (THX Ultra 2 !)...
It changes a LOT of things with movies... and even multichannel audio !

The dealer I took my sp2 to said after giving it a go that it was a night and day difference.

I dare say, but my cash supply is a lot more restricted now than it used to be.

Plus, although I must confess I haven't checked with PMC, I suspect the upgrade cost will be a lot higher in the UK than it is in North America.

James T, has Bryston actually ever seriously considered enabling Dolby Headphone output on the SP2? I know it's part of the standard software library for the Aureus chip so, on the face of it, it ought not to be as difficult to add (in software-only form) as some other things would be.

james, perhaps you could tell me when the latest version was first factory loaded into the sp2 (serial number would be helpful)
