Only a couple "so so" cuts, and the rest are riveting.

John,

Thanks for the recommendation.  I am getting into jazz recordings and it is always good to get one with solid bass.  aa

Thanks,

John

A friend gave me one of his, since he had two, but I did a quick Google and saw it at a couple places.

Overstock had the best price.

Thanks for the tip John. I picked up used one from Amazon for 9 bucks. We must be causing a small run on them!

I hope everyone likes it as well as I did.  As I said there are a couple "so so's" but much of it is really sonically great stuff.

I suppose much will depend on your systems ability to produce "mid and upper bass" detail, but it is really there, and cleanly so. :thumb:

And you can thank "HiFi Tommy" for turning me on to it.

Thanks Hi Fi.

i compare charnett to marcus miller

although he has been compared to jaco, i disagree with that.  the first time i played this, i felt that it was too contemporary but picking it up again weeks later changed my mind.  music is so mood oriented that i just wasnt listening.  i do now.

Thanks for the recommendation.  Sounded good from what I could hear on amazon.

This is an appreciated suggestion. I love great jazz bass.

Try some Brian Bromberg, Wood or Wood II. Virtuoso jazz bass on an antique stand up bass. Excellent music and recording. Bass to die for with string bass resolution that sounds just like he's right there.
