Hi John,
Thanks, think big, that's my motto. :) I've been building up to this for years, first with the Oris horns and many DIY amps and preamps, now with Bert's "Reference System", which consists of the Oris 200, and the reference bass (more on that later).
The 10 amp is done and playing, has been for a few months. Battery filaments and remote power supply. The preamp is done, except the present incarnation is a RIAA of my own devising, and uses 6ER5 tubes and active CCS loading. I have a new internal plate (all the tubes in the phono are internal to the signal chassis), I just need to wire it up with the Aa's, and I need the 10k S&B LCR RIAA.
I have all the parts and the chassis are ready for the bass amp. The circuit is similiar to a friends amp, who already has finished it, and it sounds magnificent, so no suprises expected there. So electrically, I'm really waiting on the preamp (and I still need some design in the filtering section)
Bert's "reference bass" is his new design. Details are a bit scant, he's still working on it, but it uses 4 of his new 15" custom drivers, and will be front loaded with a Oris 150 style horn. Efficiency for two units (L&R), will be 100dB, for 4 total will be 103dB.
Try over at his forums and website for a picture of the bass unit.
