Randall Museum has diy tube preamp class

This is reprinted with permission from an email announcement.

We are offering a class in building a superb tube based stereo linestage using EF86 low noise tubes at the Randall Museum. Tuition is $155, all materials can be purchased at the Randall, and should run about $375. Please see our website for the registration form and class description. http://www.randallmuseum.org/Portals/0/Flyers/FallFlyer06.pdf
The instructor is Edwin Yang. Edwin has built many versions of this elegant linestage over the past couple of years, and they are outstanding.

If you go 3/4 of the way down the page it is on the right.
They need three more participants to get the class going.
I am seriously considering it to polish my soldering skills.  :duh:

Come to a tube group meeting, I hope they are hosting more classes, I'd like to see another home built turntable class.

Only 3 people signed up for the Randall Museum Spring diy tube amp class--unfortunately I didn't hear about it in time or else it would be 4 people! Anyway, they won't be offering a summer class but fear not, the class begins again in October.

So we think that this will be offered again?  I will go in a heartbeat if it's not during RMAF or Thanksgiving week.

Thanks for the info, Berndt.  I went to the web site and found that it is very out of date. I attempted to send an email but it bounced back.  I subrscribe to the Yahoo! group and it appears to be dead too.  :-(

I keep thinking I'm looking in the wrong place.

I'll keep an eye out at the museum though.

Have a great weekend.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to follow up to let you know that the Tube Audio D.I.Y. class is happening again. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend because the Randall Museum's classes are only offered to residents of San Francisco. I live in Oakland so I'm SOL

Here's the info for you lucky SF residents http://www.randallmuseum.org/Portals/0/Flyers/FallFlyer07.pdf

Quick FYI, i called the Randall in regards to being a SF resident and they said SF residents are given preference in filled classes but that anyone can attend.
The last class was 350 if I remember right, this one is a bit cheaper.
I look forward to it.
