which album?

I actually thought they were both pretty good on regular CD but haven't compared to SACD.

This topic raised some contraversy awhile back because Blue note admitted that they cut the SACD from a PCM "master". SACD die-hards will insist that this will compromise the sonics of the disc. I have both the redbook CD and the SACD hybrid and prefer the sound of the SACd, but not by a signifigant margin. I believe the difference has to do with the player, and as my Sony SCD-1 has gone through a series of modifications that improved both redbook and SACD playback, the sonic difference between the two discs narrowed. If you have a good redbook player, the difference probably won't be worht buying the SACd for. If you feel your SACD playback is always better than your redbook playback, then I'd probably spring for the SACD.
